Atlanta Market Opens With New Product, New Space, New Features

The nation’s first and largest home furnishings and gift market of 2015 opened today in its 58th-consecutive January showing under continuous Portman family ownership and management – and in continuation of its decades-long date pattern* – with early first-day registrations, product category expansions and floor traffic signaling a winning run for The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market® and Atlanta International Area Rug Market® featuring the National Oriental Rug Show.

Global product introductions—many exclusive to AmericasMart—together with the premiere of the highly anticipated Floor 15 design-led furniture collection in Building One and the opening of the aerial bridge linking the Floor Six Home & Rug collection in Building One with Floor Six Gift and Accessories collection in Building Two set the pace for a January Market filled with firsts.

The new bridge creates, for the first time in AmericasMart history, a direct link connecting all three buildings giving buyers immediate access via one continuous route to all product categories: rug, furniture, accessories, gift, men’s/women’s/children’s fashion apparel, fashion accessories, and the incomparable temporaries collections. Adding to this are other landmark January 2015 firsts:

Interior Design Camp® hosts its inaugural Atlanta conference in conjunction with the Market. Led by celebrity interior designers Lori Dennis and Kelli Ellis, the national design summit provides designers the opportunity to learn and network with the most respected professionals in the interior design business.

 The Temporary marketplace presents an unmatched product selection with more than 4,000 lines in 33 categories including 80 international companies and The Grommet’s artisan showcase in its first Atlanta appearance.

 New and expanded showrooms on nearly every floor, showcasing what’s new and next in every product category.
