Capel Wins Award For New Catalog
Known for nearly a century as a top designer of rugs in numerous categories, Capel Rugs was recognized for outstanding design in a new field this week as the company received a Gold Davey Award for its 2015 product catalog.
The annual Davey Awards is the largest and most prestigious creative design competition for advertising and marketing excellence inspired by big ideas rather than huge budgets. Capel’s 2015 product catalog, a stunning 268-page book titled Adventures in Color & Texture, went toe-to-toe with 4,000-plus entries, rising to the top due to its creative close-up photography and dazzling room shots that show how the company’s rugs add color, texture and zest to any setting.
“From the very first time we held the catalog in our hands, we knew it was something special,” said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts for Capel Rugs. “Not only is it a source for inspiration, it’s also packed with useful information that makes it easier than ever for customers and dealers to identify the best rug for any application.”
The print and online catalog showcases Capel Rugs’ entire 2015 collection for dealers, designers and consumers. The catalog’s fresh, fashion-driven design approach features an extensive selection of new room scenes and a wealth of helpful tools, including a colorful, two-sided poster that promotes the company’s wide range of constructions and color palettes.
The Davey Awards are judged by members of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only association of prominent media, advertising and marketing professionals. AIVA members include executives from organizations such as Condé Nast, Disney, GE, Microsoft, MTV and Yahoo!
