Capels Wins Best Visual Display Award In Atlanta
Capel Rugs’ new Atlanta market showroom was honored by AmericasMart as the Best Visual Display on the third floor of Building One at the Jan. 6 to 13 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.
The new showroom in space 3-C-15, which was completely renovated for the January market, features an engaging, open design with new flooring, wall treatments and other decorative touches. The space has room to spotlight a large assortment of Capel’s new designs and best sellers, with rugs displayed in easy-to-view hanging racks, on floors and walls, and in accessorized vignettes.
“This new showroom configuration enabled us to show all of our latest introductions and best sellers while also providing space for eye-catching new graphics, accessories and décor items that demonstrate how well our rugs coordinate with a diverse range of other interior design products,” said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts for Capel Rugs. “Retailers loved our new presentation and many said they are going to put our design ideas to work in their own stores.”
Cameron Capel added that Capel enjoyed a “very successful” Atlanta market, as retailers and designers actively shopped for creative new rug designs to meet growing demand from their customers.
“This market, we spotlighted our innovative design themes of Color Burst and Texture Riot and both style directions were very well received,” said Capel.
Capel’s hits this market included two new American Originals™ braided collections – Crystal Falls and Dramatic Static – and a variety of stylish rugs that incorporate marsala, Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year including the Velvet Graphic rug. The company also did well with other fresh looks such as sari silks, contemporary designs and updated vintage collections.
“Color and texture continue to be very important themes in today’s rug marketplace,” said Capel. “Retailers are always on the lookout for fashion-forward designs that can help them capture the imaginations of today’s style-savvy consumers.”
