UPDATES AND EXPANSIONS IN HOME AND RUG
The successful integration of HOME and RUG is further driven by the expansions of two key showrooms, The StyleCraft Home Collection and Silkroute International, and the addition of new showroom, Liberty Oriental Rugs.
The Style Craft Home Collection moves to a new showroom on Building1 Floor 4 The significant expansion to more than 9,000 square feet allows the company to showcase more of its extensive line of home décor and lighting products.
Silkroute International’s move to Building1 Floor 5 nearly triples its space to more than 14,000 square feet, allowing the company to showcase a wider variety of its expansive product mix both during Markets and for daily business.
Liberty Oriental Rugs showcases its comprehensive selection of fine rug styles, designs, colors, and sizes in a new, nearly 5000 square foot showroom on Building 1 Floor 4.
COMPELLING HOME AND RUG PRESENTATIONS
In partnership with AmericasMart, Oriental Rug Retailers of America (ORRA) presents a series of seminars and educational opportunities for current and potential members. The ORRA presentation schedule is as follows with all events in Room 4-B-1 on Building 1 Floor 4:
FRIDAY, JULY 12
ORRA Director of Education Phil Menendian, CRA presents “Knot to be Missed”. Menendian, along with other ORRA board members, continues the ongoing educational process supporting the certifications of rug appraisers. All members and non-members are welcome to participate. 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Appraisers Forum. This new program is aimed at enhancing earlier ORRA educational programs with more focus on today’s methods and approaches that are necessary to provide qualified and informative rug appraisals. Attendance is recommended for those taking the CRA exam. 3-4 p.m.
SATURDAY, JULY 13
ORRA Director of Education Phil Menendian, CRA presents “ORRA Tips on Proper Rug Appraisal Techniques”. 12:30 p.m.
ORRA Director of Education Phil Menendian, CRA presents “ORRA Certified Rug Appraiser’s Exam”. Open to ORRA members only, Menendian enumerates on the mechanics of an appraisal. 1-4 p.m.
Rug ID Walk Through CRA Re-Certification. This educational opportunity features a discussion and examination of Oriental rugs for re-certification of the CRA, immediately following the CRA Exam. 4 p.m.
In addition to ORRA programming, AmericasMart and its rug exhibitors host educational, promotional and networking opportunities for Home and Rug buyers. At the July, 2013 Market, Jonathan and Drew Scott of HGTV’s Property Brothers discuss how to spend money where it counts and how to search for the best pricing on products on Thursday, July 11. Three of the South’s top interior designer and bloggers Haskell Harris, Jamie Meares and Lindsey Coral Harper discuss staying true to their Southern roots and how that affects their design perspective on Friday, July 12. Additionally, each day of the Market, buyers have the opportunity to win home furnishings, accents and rugs donated by L.R. Resources, Capel Rugs, Oriental Weavers, and Liberty Oriental Rugs.

HONORING INDUSTRY LEADERS: ICON HONORS 2013
The centerpiece of the July Market, AmericasMart celebrates professional achievements at the most important and anticipated night in the rug industry, ICON HONORS 2013.
The ICON HONORS 2013 celebration will be Thursday, July 11 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, just blocks from AmericasMart. Cocktails will be served at 7 p.m., and the dinner and 2013 Honors Presentation begin at 7:30 p.m. Honors will be presented to home and gift retailers, manufacturers, sales agents and service providers from across the industry.
