Global Views To Open New AmericasMart Showroom

Global Views, a premier manufacturer of fine decorative accessories, lighting, furnishings, wall art, area rugs and more, will establish a major new Atlanta corporate presence with a 13,000 square-foot flagship showroom opening this July, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of AmericasMart parent AMC, Inc. AmericasMart is a member of the ORIA.

The Global Views showroom is among many recent and forthcoming additions expanding AmericasMart’s home, rug, gift and apparel franchise, which continues in its role as the world’s true global marketplace following more than 51 years of master-planned growth.  Its seven-million square foot facility houses the world’s single-largest collection of product under one roof and is the ranking preferred destination for retailers and designers from every U.S. state and more than 90 countries.

Secured under a multi-year commitment on floor 14 of AmericasMart Building One, the new Global Views corporate showroom is now under construction for grand-opening events scheduled to occur with the July 11-18 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.  The showroom creates a major new 14th-floor design-driven resource adding significantly to AmericasMart’s large and growing home furnishings and home accents product mix.

“Global Views helps define the direction of our growing design-driven product presentation on floor 14,” notes David Savula, AMC executive vice president in charge of all AmericasMart home and gift leasing.  “The scope and depth of its product lines and the unmistakable look and feel of its brand align perfectly with the design environment we are creating on this signature floor,” Savula adds.

With its new showroom on track for the July 2012 debut, Global Views joins a long line of the home furnishings industry’s most celebrated brands located in 14th floor corporate showrooms, including Century Furniture, Currey & Company, Ambella Home Collection, Port 68 and many others.

“Global Views is legendary in the world of premium home furnishings and home accents product with a design aesthetic grounded in pure creativity, innovation and inspiration,” notes Portman.  “Their new showroom will become a showplace of style with the expansive space designed and created to spotlight the full depth and breadth of a large and always-growing Global Views merchandise mix,” Portman adds.

“Global Views has had a tremendous run in the Atlanta market with Southern Accessories Today for the last 15 years.  Now jumping off and having our own showroom on the 14th floor will offer us the opportunity to show our line in its entirety and also give our new company – Studio A – the presence it deserves in the marketplace,” says David Gebhart, Global Views chief executive officer.  “We are creating a stimulating environment in both Global Views and Studio A to draw increased traffic to our lines during market – as well as day-to-day as we welcome the best designers and retailers from around the world to our exciting new showroom.  Everyone in our company is elated by the amazing opportunity our space on the 14th floor in AmericasMart will bring.”

Open Monday through Friday, the 14th-floor HOME & DESIGN collection naturally complements AmericasMart’s vast Home Accents, Furnishings and Fine Linens offerings and that of AmericasMart’s sister design center entity The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), which exclusively offers luxury home furnishings and fabrics.  Floor 14 exhibitors enjoy four markets annually plus daily traffic from credentialed designers and retailers.

The Global Views grand-opening ribbon cutting event will be scheduled for early in the July Market within the new Building One 14-C-1 space.  Commitment to the new location coincides with the appointment of Josh Jarboe as National Sales Director and Shawn Johnson-Burns as Key Accounts Manager and Training Manager for Global Views and its sister companies Global Views Direct Sourcing and Studio A.  The new sales management team will operate under Jarboe’s supervision in the Atlanta corporate showroom.
