Kalaty Adds New Collections for Atlanta
At the January 2012 Atlanta International Rug Market, Kalaty Rug Corporation will add three fashionable new rug collections to its impressive line of fine handcrafted area rugs. New collections include: Gramercy, borderless transitional and modern patterns in a Lori-Loomäweave; Heirloom, hand tufted designs featuring traditional Ikat motifs; Portfolio by Parisa, a new licensed collection featuring classic architectural inspirations in a Lori-Loomäweave.

Gramercy – Elegant transitional designs with a modern vibe. Exquisitely handcrafted with a Lori-Loomä weave using 100% premium wool and bamboo silk. A stylish choice for virtually any décor!
Heirloom – A fashionable collection of hand-tufted borderless rugs incorporating traditional Ikat motifs in many popular colors. Made of 100% premium striated wool that imparts an authentic vintage look.
Portfolio by Parisa – An all-new licensed collection of transitional rug patterns, designed by Parisa Abdollahi, made of 100% premium wool in a Lori- Loomä weave. The patterns in Portfolio by Parisa are both modern and traditional at the same time, capturing timelessness through color and classical architectural inspirations.
Parisa is a Philadelphia-based interior designer and 2nd generation rug designer whose appreciation for classical architecture is the inspiration for her new licensed rug collection for Kalaty Rug Corporation. She holds a master’s degree in interior design and architecture from Drexel University. With regard to her design philosophy, Parisa says: “My philosophy is to capture timelessness through tradition while embracing the future. I learned at a young age that culture, history and architecture are what defines time and space. Every piece in a room should tell a story… some timid and some bold. After all good design is all about color, scale, light, space, composition and balance. Great design is timeless and appeals to the subconscious, echoing the past and evoking strong memories. My bold, large-scale patterns are respectful of history while my color palette is a departure from traditional colors by welcoming the future.”
