Linda Fain
For over 28 years, Linda Fain owned and managed the four-generation regional icon – Fain’s Fine Carpets – with her partner and brother Barry Fain until it closed in December of 2008. As the driving force behind the store’s management, inventory selection and marketing, Linda has long been a consultant for the design community and a go-to expert and lecturer, including speaking at RISD and design events across the region.
“Linda brings her seasoned experience, strong leadership and significant knowledge of fine floor coverings and carpets,” said Rosalind Rustigian, Principal, V. George Rustigian Rugs. “As an experienced rug showroom owner with an excellent customer service sense, Linda will enhance our knowledge base and offerings. We’re delighted to have Linda join us and partner with me to lead our team servicing both retail and trade customers.”
“Rustigian Rugs has been a leader in fine rugs for over 80 years. I’m thrilled to be part of the sales team and excited by the opportunity to help guide customers and designers through the world of rugs once again,” said Linda Fain.
“Rusty” Rustigian, a Brown University graduate whose attendance at Harvard Law was interrupted by the turmoil of the depression, founded Rustigian Rugs in 1930. Rustigian conducted business out of his house on Benefit Street until his death in 1980. His daughter Rosalind assumed ownership of the business and then moved operations to its current location at One Governor Street in Providence in the fall of 1981.
Rustigian Rugs has positioned itself as a specialty rug showroom with the highest quality goods from a wide range of sources. The store’s inventory has morphed from traditional selections of red and blue Persian and Persian design carpets to a current stock of traditional rugs, re-colored classics and fashion forward Tibetan, modern, ultra-contemporary rugs. Since 1996, the store’s second floor has housed a full service wall-to-wall carpet department offering goods on a par with those of major design centers nationwide.
Rustigian Rugs also offers complete repair, restoration and cleaning services for oriental rugs. Visit www.rustigianrugs.com to learn more.
