Thom Filicia for Feizy (6 new pieces): Experience six new styles from The Thom Filicia for Feizy. These striking pieces feature stunning hand-selected colors, designs, and textures for the sophisticated lifestyle. NEW PIECES FROM THOM FILICIA: PECONIC, TRUXEL, DERING, BLUFF, LYTTON AND GANSETT DEBUT COLLECTIONS:  KILLIAN (6 new pieces): Fiber: 100% Wool Construction: Hand-Knotted Made from hand spun wool using a Turkish style knot, the yarn is all vegetable dyed naturally on a slow fire and in small quantities, giving each rug a unique character. No 2 rugs are identical, making each one a true one-of-a-kind heirloom piece. NAVARO (5 new pieces): Fiber: Wool & Viscose Construction: Hand-Woven This product is crafted using handspun yarn with a lot of variations. It is a blend of NZ wool with Greek & Saudi wool, giving Navaro a unique character of softness and sheen. We saw an opportunity in this yarn with varied thicknesses and thought to produce a product where it can highlight the beauty of this variation. Combination of finer count and thicker count defines the pattern in its own way and produces a heavy and sturdy rug. ROWEN (3 new pieces): Fiber: 100% Wool Construction: Hand-Knotted These rugs are made from hand carded yarn, meaning it does not go through any machine in the spinning of the yarn stage. The yarn is then dyed in pots and small batches to get the abrash and the unique look. The rugs are put through a proprietary wash, then finished using only scissors and blades to give them the beautiful uneven texture. Only hand processes are used in the manufacturing of this collection. WEMBLEY (4 new pieces): Fiber: 100% Wool Construction: Hand-Knotted Like Rowen, these rugs are made from hand carded yarn, meaning it does not go through any machine in the spinning of the yarn stage. The yarn is then dyed in pots and small batches to get the abrash and the unique look. The rugs are put through a proprietary wash, then finished using only scissors and blades to give them the beautiful uneven texture. Only hand processes are used in the...

Fresh New Designs On Tap From Capel At High Point

Capel Rugs is expanding its assortment of promotionally priced machine-made rugs as well as more upscale hand-tufted models with a variety of dynamic new transitional and traditional designs at the October 22 to 26 High Point Market in its showroom located at Market Square, Space 112. Leading off the slate of introductions is Azari, a nine-rug collection that is hand-tufted in India of 100% wool. Inspired by vintage Persian designs, the traditional collection includes two patterns — Isfahan and Keshan — in a range of rich colors and fresh accents. Colorways include celedon, gray, dark sapphire, copper, evergeen, pewter, ink, oxford tan and terra cotta. “Azari embraces the rich traditions of the past and carries them forward to fit with today’s more relaxed lifestyles and living spaces,” said Cameron Capel, President – Sales and Marketing for Capel Rugs. “The collection is a perfect synthesis of classic Persian styles, from all corners of this storied ancient empire, with the quality construction our customers have come to expect from Capel Rugs.” At this market, retailers will be on the lookout for creative new rug designs and merchandising ideas, said Capel. “Retailers are eager to freshen up their stores, and there’s no better way to do it than with eye-catching, fashion-forward rugs. To help them out, we’re bringing out a carefully curated assortment of new patterns and colors packed with the value and fashion that retailers and designers need to generate excitement with their customers.” Also on tap for High Point is Zenith, a timely collection featuring a plush high-low texture and a lively blending of natural colors. The raised patterning of the design adds flair as well as a feeling of movement and fluidity. The Zenith collection is machine made in Turkey on Wilton looms using a mix of 90% polyester and 10% olefin yarns. “These beautiful area rugs will impart a luminous feeling wherever they are placed,” said Capel. Another machine-made collection debuting in High Point is Bosphorus. Made in the U.S.A. on Wilton power looms, these rugs use space dyed polyester to create deep and rich tones with a soft hand. The Bosphorus collection includes three patterns and nine colorways: Bahktiar in navy, chocolate and terra cotta; Heriz in ivory, natural and rust; Ispahan in aqua; and Keshan in blue and stone. “These rugs are as durable as they are soft to the touch,” said Capel. “The collection features an intriguing mix of traditional rug designs such as Heriz, Ispahan, Keshan and Bahktiar inspired by the Bosphorus Strait area of northwestern Turkey. That’s where classic rugs such as these first made their way through the city of Istanbul, the crossroads of trade...

Capel Generates Strong Business At High Point

Capel Rugs enjoyed a busy High Point Market this month as retailers and designers flocked to its showroom eager to see and buy new rugs to spice up their store assortments. Market winners included Fresh Braids and updated Oushak and Gabbeh patterns. Retailers applauded the new ‘Tradition with a Twist’ designs. Hot new collections included Verve, Carrara, Naturelle, Avery and Gabby. “We had a great market,” said Cameron Capel, president of sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “We had a steady stream of appointments scheduled every day, and every retailer and designer we expected showed up. The volume of order placements and commitments also was quite strong — matching or exceeding the level of activity we experienced before the pandemic.” “It was so nice to meet with our customers in person again!” Capel added. “Verve sports a mix of funky colors, while Carrara features a vintage erased pattern enlivened with color,” Capel said. “Naturelle is neutral in tone but highly textural, and Avery boasts a laid-back, easy vibe. Gabby combines natural colors with simple designs for a look that is easy to use and layer.” Leading off the hits for Capel this market was Verve, a new hand-knotted collection from India made of 100% wool. The initial introduction features two colors — silver multi and ecru multi — with more colors likely to follow at future markets. Six sizes are available, including 2’6″ x 9′, 3′ x 5′, 5′ x 8′, 9′ x 12′ and 10′ x 14′, and a 5′ x 8′ model may retail for under $1,299. “The Verve collection of updated Oushak patterns lives up to its name,” Capel said. “These fresh, unexpected designs are distinguished by their vitality and liveliness.” Also doing well in High Point was Avery, a new machine made collection in 100% New Zealand wool featuring five patterns with a high level of detail and a vintage, laid-back vibe. The range of earthy, subtle colorways includes stormy gray, stone multi, onyx/cream, slate/linen and merlot. Gabby, a new hand loomed collection made in India of 100% New Zealand wool, also won favor. Simple yet elegant, Gabby’s subtly colored Gabbeh patterns combine abstract geometric designs on open fields of color. Four colorways are available — granite, linen, oatmeal and wheat. Sizes include 2’6″ x 9′, 3′ x 5′, 5′ x 8′, 8′ x 10′, 9′ x 12′ and 10′ x 14′. A 5′ x 8′ rug may retail for under $749. “Gabby’s subtly colored Gabbeh patterns make an understated, refined statement that is perfect for today’s relaxed lifestyles,” Capel said. Capel To Debut Wide Assortment At High Point

Capel Rugs is rolling out a large assortment of new rugs in the Capel Rugs showroom from April 2 to 6 at the April High Point Market in Market Square, Space 112. The new rugs represent a wide range of constructions, styles and price points and offerings include fresh braids, updated Oushak and Gabbeh patterns and much more. The biggest introduction that Capel has made in recent years, these new rugs are designed to give retailers the stylish, high-value products they need to refresh their floors and drive traffic and business back to stores. “Retailers are hungry for dynamic new rug designs,” said Cameron Capel, president of sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “Because of the many supply chain challenges brought about by the pandemic, their shelves have become bare. But now that the threat of Covid is waning, they are ready to restock and ramp up their merchandising activity with creative new designs.” Capel Rugs is expecting a busy High Point Market based on the volume of showroom appointments being made in advance of the show and the extra level of effort it has put into this season’s product development. “During the height of the pandemic, a lot of products we had in the pipeline had to be put on hold,” Capel said. “Now, we’re finally able to move these plans forward. As a result, at this market we’ll be showing a wonderfully eclectic mix of rugs, from high-value machine made rugs and elegant hand knots to stylish new braids, updated Oushak patterns and subtle abstracts. There truly will be ‘something for everybody,’ which is welcome news to retailers and designers looking to create excitement for their customers.” Leading off the product parade will be Verve, a new hand-knotted collection from India made of 100% wool. The initial introduction will feature two colors – silver multi and ecru multi – with more colors likely to follow at future markets. Six sizes are available, including 2’6″ x 9′, 3′ x 5′, 5′ x 8′, 9′ x 12′ and 10′ x 14′, and a 5′ x 8′ model may retail for under $1,299. “The Verve collection lives up to its name,” Capel said. “These designs are distinguished by their vitality, energy and liveliness.” “Unexpected accents on understandable fields create a fresh approach for these updated Oushak patterns,” she added.
