Nourison was honored at the 26th annual Pinnacle Awards, presented by the International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD) on October 24th at High Point Univerity’s Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center, during High Point Market. The Pinnacle Awards gala celebrated this year’s theme of “Creating Tomorrow’s Homes,” focused on the style, forms, finishes, and functionality of the furnishings that will be part of our future lives. Nourison’s Scroll Area Rug, Grey Shadow is the winning design in the Floor Coverings category. The Scroll Area Rug just made its debut at High Point Market, with a limited edition design of 100 pieces total (50 units per size: 8’ x 10’ and 9/ x 12’). Fresh New Designs On Tap From Capel At High Point
Capel Rugs is expanding its assortment of promotionally priced machine-made rugs as well as more upscale hand-tufted models with a variety of dynamic new transitional and traditional designs at the October 22 to 26 High Point Market in its showroom located at Market Square, Space 112. Leading off the slate of introductions is Azari, a nine-rug collection that is hand-tufted in India of 100% wool. Inspired by vintage Persian designs, the traditional collection includes two patterns — Isfahan and Keshan — in a range of rich colors and fresh accents. Colorways include celedon, gray, dark sapphire, copper, evergeen, pewter, ink, oxford tan and terra cotta. “Azari embraces the rich traditions of the past and carries them forward to fit with today’s more relaxed lifestyles and living spaces,” said Cameron Capel, President – Sales and Marketing for Capel Rugs. “The collection is a perfect synthesis of classic Persian styles, from all corners of this storied ancient empire, with the quality construction our customers have come to expect from Capel Rugs.” At this market, retailers will be on the lookout for creative new rug designs and merchandising ideas, said Capel. “Retailers are eager to freshen up their stores, and there’s no better way to do it than with eye-catching, fashion-forward rugs. The raised patterning of the design adds flair as well as a feeling of movement and fluidity. The Zenith collection is machine made in Turkey on Wilton looms using a mix of 90% polyester and 10% olefin yarns. “These beautiful area rugs will impart a luminous feeling wherever they are placed,” said Capel. Another machine-made collection debuting in High Point is Bosphorus. Made in the U.S.A. on Wilton power looms, these rugs use space dyed polyester to create deep and rich tones with a soft hand. The Bosphorus collection includes three patterns and nine colorways: Bahktiar in navy, chocolate and terra cotta; Heriz in ivory, natural and rust; Ispahan in aqua; and Keshan in blue and stone. “These rugs are as durable as they are soft to the touch,” said Capel. “The collection features an intriguing mix of traditional rug designs such as Heriz, Ispahan, Keshan and Bahktiar inspired by the Bosphorus Strait area of northwestern Turkey.
